Presentation

The Pilier Forêt is a Biological Resource Centre which was created in 2017.

The actors involved manage a collection of trees in nurseries, seeds, pollens, needles, leaves and DNA extracts. This collection is distributed over 3 operational sites: Avignon (84), Orléans (45) and Pierroton (33).

The purpose of the BRC is to provide national and international scientific communities with forest biological resources intended for research, and with their associated phenotypic and genotypic data.

Its operation is supported by the ECODIV department of the INRAE Institute. It was certified a Biological Resource Centre by the IBiSA GIS in 2019.

The Pilier Forêt is one of the five thematic components of the research infrastructure AgroBRC.
